What is Bikram Yoga?
Bikram yoga find its roots in dynamic Hatha Yoga.
A harmonic series of 24
postures (Asanas) and 2 breathing exercises (Pranayama), it is an
all-around form of exercise for the body and mind. Bikram yoga is
equally suitable for both women and men, people of all ages, beginners
as well as advanced. It is practiced in a pleasantly heated room at 38
degrees Celsius. The warmth allows for an intensive but gentle workout
for the muscles and tendons. The sweat detoxifies and purifies the
body.
In order to concentrate and hold
your body posture, Bikram is practiced in front of a mirror. In this
way, you get to know your body more and grow in self confidence. The
postures are practiced in a group where everyone works on their
strength and flexibility in their own confined area.
